Mosaic Monday

It’s another Mosaic Monday over at Mary’s Little Red House. Last week there were 89 fabulous mosaics posted.  If you haven’t stopped by for a visit, be sure to take some time for one.  You will not be disappointed.

My collection this week is from our FR at the Sandbridge Beach, VA, three weeks ago.  Eloise and Thomas are both five years old and are like twins....they like the same things, are both a bit wild and wacky, and they even look alike. It seems like they were must have been meant for each other. They’re the children of my two sons and are like two peas in a pod always making silly faces and into good mischief.  Thomas lives on Bainbridge Island, WA, which is entirely too far away to suit us...and, yes, he is a very curly red head.  Eloise, fortunately, is only two and a half hours from us in Richmond...that is a GOOD thing. To be around them always puts big grins on their Baga’s and GrandBud’s faces. They are absolutely the cutest children together we have ever seen, and it’s a heartbreaker we have to wait another three years to see them together again.

Eloise’s Bunting Birthday

My granddaughter will be 5 years old this year so I decided to make bunting flags following a tutorial I found by TeresaDownUnder. Each triangle is a different pink print while the backs are all pink and white gingham. The gross grain ribbon is pink and white polka dots. If it is for Eloise, it has to be PINK!!!!! I appliqued the letters with my machine using the blanket stitch. I have found that it seems to work the best for me. This project was lots of fun and not difficult. It took time and patience to do the applique, but the rest was a snap. The tutorial was excellent with great pictures and easy to follow instructions.
