Pink Saturday ~ 2-5-11

Inez Rosella Luce ~ 1868-1899

Inez Rosella Luce was my grandmother on my father’s side. She married Eugene Rodolphe Hornot in New Orleans, Louisiana, they had three children: Celina, my Aunt Cenie, Eugene, my father, and Roger. Both my grandmother and little Roger died in the great flu epidemic. She was only 31. My Aunt Cenie died in her late 90’s and my father lived to be 100 plus a few months. There is something about the pink in these flowers on her dress and little purse that really touches my heart.

Please be sure to stop by Beverly’s How Sweet the Sound to see all the many lovely pink posting for this Saturday.

  1. How lucky you are to have the photo. Too bad she did not live long enough for you to know her. How sweet her dress and bag are.

  6. Such a beautiful photograph. My grandmother also died in the flu epidemic in 1918. She was only 26 and my mother at that time was only 4 years old. It is so sad that we did not get to know them. I too am lucky though that my father will be 100 this year!
