Genie’s Walnut Doll~ Rednesday & Ruby Tuesday 4-21-11

These little dolls are not hard to make. My sixth grade students used to make them. All you need is florist wire and green florist tape, a walnut for the head, glue, material for the dress, apron, and hat, a needle with some thread, and some cross stitch  material and floss.The rest is up to you.

What a sweet project. I'll bet the kids really enjoyed making the dolls. I'm visiting from Rednesday and I'm your newest follower. I hope you can stop by Cottage and Creek and follow back. Your blog is charming!

Now that's a great project. Reminds me of Molly's Pilgrim. Baby Bee had to make a doll for a school project for that book and I wish we had known about these. Bet your sixth graders loved them!

Oh my goodness, I can't wait to show this to my sister, who loves everything primitive! I think one of these little darlings would fit in perfectly in her home!
Happy REDnesday,
Carol

WOMAN IN THE SCARLET COAT

Woman in the scarlet coat,
Are you heading for a boat?
Or perhaps you need a bus
To get far away from us.
Whether wheels or sails you take
Don’t forget the chocolate cake
To sustain you on your way;
Red-clad damsel, now we say,
“Go with grace, enjoy the ride,
See you on the other side!”

Let me know if you need any walnuts 'cause I'd be glad to send you a bunch! That doll is charming! I have a peach pit doll. :) Thank you for such a nice compliment on my photos. Someday, when I grow up, I would like to take some photography classes. Have a wonderful weekend Genie.
