Countdown to Christmas Match Box Swap Thrifty Thursday

Thrifty Thursday takes place each Thursday and is hosted by Leigh over at Tales from Bloggeritaville. The party is a progressive one. Stop by and visit the links to see all the Thrifty Thursday treasures participating bloggers have to share.

This week I have been working diligently on my 25 little decorated match boxes for the "Countdown to Christmas Match Box Swap" sponsored by Linda over at A Swap for All Seasons. Inside of each little match box is placed a SMALL gift. I have been searching everywhere for little things that will fit into the tiny boxes.  Today I finally hit the jackpot! The following are photos of the 6 goodies I found at our local “antique-thrift” store after searching through display case after display case.  With the 40% discount I was able to manage, 5 items ended up costing me $2.00 each, and the little saucer was $1.00! The old pins are so pretty... the one with the little blue flowers is frilly but dainty, the one with the butterfly image in it is amazing,  the little rocking horse is absolutely precious, the Morton’s Salt writing pen top is so neat I am going to make it into a necklace, and the little saucer is just the cutest thing ever. The best part is each one fits perfectly into its little match box. Oh, happy day!
