8-8-26 ~ A Walk up on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Sunday I drove a hiker up to Thunder Ridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway to make a day hike. After I let her off (about 7:30 AM) , I couldn't resist taking the 10 minute scenic walk. Boy, was I surprised at the views. It was like I was flying above the clouds at times and at other times the clouds looks like a frozen lake.

Well, I know what this is!!!!
I watched for this nasty stuff with every step.
Now that mine is finally healing, I definitely do not want any more.

There were lots of huge rocks as well as the beautiful view on my little walk.

  2. What a beautiful place. I can see the blue haze on the Blue Ridge mountains, and the trail looks a lovely place to walk. Of course
now I'm thinking of 'The Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, on the trail of the lonesome pine...' :)

  6. Oh it is beautiful -- love these incredible views. it looks like my kind of walk. The poison ivy makes me itch just looking at it (here in Oregon we have poison oak, but it is the same poison and just as easy to get into accidentally and just as hard to get rid of.)

  14. I love your short hike. Lots of views in just 10 minutes. We have lots and lots of PI here and I watch for it even though I am not sensitive to it. I hear that one often gets sensitive later in life.
